This document provides late-breaking or other information for the DigitalPersona Recognition Engine Update ------------------------- How to Use This Document ------------------------- To view the Readme file on-screen in Windows Notepad, maximize the Notepad window. On the Format menu, click Word Wrap. To print the Readme file, open it in Notepad or another word processor, and then use the Print command on the File menu. --------- CONTENTS --------- 1. INSTALLATION ---------------- You must have administrator rights to install this software. Run Setup.exe and follow the installation instructions. A reboot is required upon completion. However, if you are running it on a Server or Domain Controller, a reboot is not necessary and you might choose not to reboot. If your product already has the latest Recognition Engine version you will see a message: "The upgrade cannot be installed as a newer version of the program is already installed." This means you do not need to install the update. ----------------- 2. COMPATIBILITY ----------------- This update is compatible with and needed for the following products. If your product is not listed, please contact Technical Support: DigitalPersona Pro for AD (Server, Kiosk and Workstations) from Version 4.0.0 to 4.4.2 DigitalPersona One Touch for Windows SDK 1.4.0.01 and earlier DigitalPersona Online (Server, Client, and Kiosk Client) 4.4.1 and 4.3.2 DigitalPersona Platinum SDK/Integrator 3.x.x. DigitalPersona One Touch ID SDK 2.1.1 and earlier If your product is of a newer version or it already has the latest versions of the Recognition Engine installed, then you will see a message: "The upgrade cannot be installed as a newer version of the program is already installed." This means you do not need to install the update. ----------------------- 3. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS ----------------------- Minimum system requirements: - A DigitalPersona Product already installed (see the Compatibility section above) ----------------- 4. RELEASE NOTES ----------------- This update includes the latest release of the DigitalPersona Fingerprint Recognition Engine. The new engines bring the security of DigitalPersona Pro to the next level while at the same time allowing for the best user experience. For optimal performance with the new engine, the default False Accept Rate is now set at 1:100,000. If you are using DigitalPersona Pro with swipe-style fingerprint readers, such as those embedded into laptops, depending on your system configuration, you may want to lower the value to 1:10,000 to allow for improved usability. The new engine has been optimized ot allow for improved security without compromising the user experience. ------------------------ 5.
